Lord, What Would You Have Me To Do?

My Mom recently told me that I seemed unsure of myself, and through my crying tears, I agreed.  I have been unsure of several things:
  • How to behave in the face of unfairness;
  • How to behave when faced with disappointments; and
  • How to behave when I was unsure of which direction to go.
I have wondered out loud: (1) if I have done all I could do in certain areas, or if there was more for me to do; (2) if I was where God wanted me to be, of if it was time to move; and (3) if I was heeding my own voice/will; or if I was listening to God

I started asking “Lord, What Would You Have Me To Do?”
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when faced with unfairness?
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when faced with disappointments?
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when I am unsure of which direction to go?
His answer to me and to all of His children – is to trust Him.  God has a plan for all of His children, and He will give us all of the tools that we need to fulfill our life’s purpose.  It is inevitable that along this journey we will become uncertain and confused.  It is during that uncertain period that we must seek God’s voice even harder and become more diligent in our walk – we must not divert our eyes from God.
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when faced with unfairness?
    • Answer: Trust Me – and Do Good
    • Psalms 37:1-3 (Read verses 1-10) Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when faced with disappointments?
    • Answer: Trust Me – and Hope
    • Psalms 42:11:   Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
    • Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
  • Lord, what would you have me to do when I am unsure of which direction to go?
    • Answer: Trust Me and Seek My Guidance
    • Psalms 25:4-5:  Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
All of the answers to life’s questions and circumstances are found in His Word.  God anticipated all of our questions before the foundation of the world and provided us all that we need in His Word!

Glory To God for All That He Has Done

Blessings – Janice
